Inner Beauty

The common saying goes that “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”. This saying has becomes the belief of some young ladies. They are so engrossed in it to the extent that their perception of beauty have been badly and negatively affected.
These young ladies go extra mile and can do anything to make themselves beautiful. They often wear flashy and expensive jewelleries, heavy make-ups, and clothes that expose sensitive parts of their body. Some even go as far as doing breast enlargement, tommy tuck, buttock lift, plastic surgery, tattoos and all sorts. All these they do in order to look beautiful and be acceptable in the society.
Beauty is more than outward adornment. Outward adornments fades away with time for does not last. No matter how gorgeously dressed you are in the morning, when going to work or an outing, by evening it is gone. This is because it is beauty that comes from within- the inner beauty. This type of beauty has its foundation in Christ. It radiates from within to the outside, it does not fades, and it is long lasting and everlasting. 1 pet. 3:3.

Olaniyan in his sermon titled" Pioneering Deacon Ministry" charged the pioneers that they must have solid foundations for others that are coming behind for effective deacon ministry and likened them to the Seven Spirit-filled men in Acts Chapter 6 verse 1 through 7. Dr. Isreal further stated that the office of Deaconship is to advance the course of the church by meeting the physical needs of the congregation while the undersheperd is saddled with the responsibility of meeting the spiritual needs of the church. The eloquent cleric quoted copiously from the books of Acts 6, 1 Corithians 3 v 1-10 et cetera and he highlighted the following as keys of effective Deacon Ministry; building of solid and enduring foundation enhances Church growth; making ministry service a priority and not church adminstration, politics and appearance on church programs; taking special interest in hurting and indigent members such as widows, teenage mothers, unemployed youths and retrenched people; deacons should be redemptive in their modus operandi and not judgmental Read More
